How to Update Your MT4 or MT5 Trading Account Password
If your MT4 or MT5 trading account password changes, you need to update it in AlphaLedger.
This allows AlphaLedger to continue pulling and updating your trading data.
When to update your trading account password
Update your MT4 or MT5 password in AlphaLedger if:
- You changed your investor password
- You changed your read-only password
- Your broker updated your credentials
- Your account stopped syncing after a password change
- AlphaLedger can no longer pull account data
How to update the password in AlphaLedger
To update your MT4 or MT5 trading account password:
- Open AlphaLedger
- Go to the affected trading account
- Click the settings wheel
- Enter the new MT4 or MT5 password
- Save the changes
Make sure the password is entered exactly as provided in your MT4 or MT5 account settings.
After updating the password
After saving the new password, AlphaLedger may need time to reconnect and update the account data.
Please allow up to 24 hours for the update to complete before contacting support.

If the account still does not update after 24 hours, contact AlphaLedger support and include:
- Your broker name
- Whether the account is MT4 or MT5
- The account number
- When the password was updated
- A short description of the issue
