How to Make an Account Publicly Visible
Basic and Pro users can create a shareable track record for an eligible connected account. Pro is required to display a strategy in the public leaderboard rankings.
Before an account can be shared or listed, AlphaLedger must validate that you control the trading account.
Requirements for a shareable track record
You need:
- An active Basic or Pro subscription
- A connected MT4 or MT5 trading account
- Access to the account’s investor or read-only password settings
- A completed account ownership validation
Validate account ownership
To validate the account:
- Open the trading account in AlphaLedger.
- Open the account settings.
- Find the account number and select Validate.
- Copy the temporary validation password shown by AlphaLedger.
- Open MT4 or MT5.
- Temporarily change the account’s investor or read-only password to the validation password.
- Return to AlphaLedger and complete validation.
This confirms that you control the connected trading account. It is not a CPA audit and does not guarantee future performance.
Restore your investor password
The validation password is only required during the validation process. After validation succeeds, replace it with a new investor or read-only password of your choice and update the connection in AlphaLedger if required.
Never provide AlphaLedger with a master trading password that can place trades or withdraw funds.
Share the account on Basic
After validation, a Basic user can create and share an eligible track-record link. This allows people with the link to review the information you have made visible.
Basic does not include public leaderboard listing.
Publish and rank the account on Pro
Pro users can make an eligible strategy discoverable through the public leaderboard. Leaderboard participation is a separate choice; validating or sharing an account does not automatically add it to the rankings.
Choose what is visible
Review the visibility settings before sharing or publishing. Depending on the controls available for the account, you may be able to hide or show information such as:
- Open trades
- Balance values
- Account details
- Performance metrics
Only publish information you are comfortable making available to other people.
Understanding the labels
- Connected means AlphaLedger can read the account data.
- Ownership validated means AlphaLedger has confirmed control of the account using the validation process.
- Public or shareable means other people can view the permitted account data.
- Listed means the strategy appears in the public leaderboard.
- Audited means the account has completed the separate Live US CPA Audit process.
These labels describe different states and should not be treated as interchangeable.
